Yea, Focus, the " Moving Waves "  album seems to be the best , from what I've heard.  Great ol' rock album w/ Jan Akkerman playin' like no tomorrow. All around great band.

Other groups that Mr. Akkerman has played on noteworthy ALBUMS , like, Meditation   by Tony Scott, with the obscure Brainbox and his many solo ventures , for instance Tabernakle. At one point in the '70's his acclaim reached the levels of guitarists like Clapton.
Get 'er done

Been meaning to get some of their stuff since I was played it at school back in the dark ages. Finally spotted the double 'best of' album for a fiver ! (great new CD shop in Brentwood Essex - really cheap).

What a band ! - excellent - have just worked out Sylvia (what a classic ) & hope that next time we jam we can successfully cover it !

Cheers - Martin

Focus just released their ninth album a few weeks ago. The Title of the album is Focus 9 / New Skin. From the original line-up, there are two members still active, naming: Thijs van Leer on Flute, Keyboards & Vocals and Pierre van der Linden on Drums. The two are accompanied by Niels van der Steenhoven on Guitars and Bobby Jacobs on Fenderbass.

As the old chairman of the Focus Fan Association and writer of lyrics for European Rap(sody) on Focus 9, can I just thank whoever it is who is keeping the name of this great band going.

Then you can thank the German fathers and inventors of Melodic Speed Metal, Helloween. Their "Jukebox" album included only covers, and one of them was "Hocus Pocus". Without this album, I'd know nothing at all about Focus. And that goes for all the music fans I know, with one exception, and he's just turned 50, so he was probably "there" when they were at their prime, or what you say.
